Wrangler Newsletter handed out

Students today in class were able to clean out their binder of any papers that they would not need for the 2nd semester. Students were encouraged to carry this newsletter home to parents. In this newsletter, teacher request for tissues, glue sticks, markers, and note book paper are asked for. We are quickly running out of these items and any donation will be greatly appreciated!

Also, in the newsletter expectations for students academic and personaly behavior is addressed. In Texas History a list of 7 higher expectations were addressed.
The list is:
1. We will strive to write two- five paragraph essays this semester.
2. The "W's" will turn into "AP-PARTS"
3. Political Cartoons will be introduced and used by students.
4. For the Pre-Ap class- Reading Checks will continue- We aim to have 2-3 a six weeks.
5. The School policy for NO GUM in school will be focused on much more than last semester.
6. In class, the talking to get the instructor and/or the class off task will draw much more attention.
7. Mr. Taylor retains the right to amend this list as the year moves on if needed.

Other issues addressed in class:
Students responsibility to turn work in on time.
Students responsibility to ask for work when absent.

I do appreciate the parents that have attempted to keep their student on top of missed work and or turning in late work!

I strongly feel that the student is at a point where they need to be accepting the responsibility of turning in their work on time, and if not on time, then late for a late grade. This should be accomplished without much parental supervision. Should students not accept this responsibility then natural consequences should occur.

As always, parent contact is encouraged and any issue or concern that needs to be addressed is greatly appreciated. You may contact Mr. Taylor at: taylorch@lisd.net
